Hearts in the Arts
Many of the artists I represent, from dancers to writers to musicians (many of those!) to fine artists and actors, and even a costume designer, are participating in some form or other of Valentines/I Love To Read/Black History events for February. While sharing these online links of theirs (either to the events themselves, or where you might find more information), I thought I would intersperse with some of the hearts I keep running across within the many arts we work within. Keep scrolling!
Marjorie Goldsblum has an event for her saxophone concert at the Dorchester Library on Feb. 12. Please find more info. at her FB events page: rebrand.ly/log-facebook-69066a or : https://www.facebook.com/LondonSaxophoneSchool/videos/246097430903321
or visit the library’s website directly.
I have 4 clients with special events on Feb. 13, 3with Valentines themes. The first is Carson Destan, who will be offering a Paint-by-Hearts card-making workshop virtually. For more information on that, see his website at:
https://www.happyheartistartstudio.ca
Enjoy making your Valentine a special card!
Two dancers, my client’s daughter Lindsay Paskowitch and her friend Megan Reynolds will be holding a dance recital at their church (basement) Sunday afternoon (13th). Tickets free, but must register virtually. Donations to the dance school welcome. Lindsey’s instagram site has details and some photos:
Author J. Ivanel Johnson also has a Valentines event, this one on the evening of the 13th where she is inviting anyone interested in hearing excerpts from her new mystery/romance novel to join her in the bathtub! See more here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1103208710469958
Apparently prizes and gifts of a romantic nature for participants!
There’s bound to be some fun happening on Valentines Day proper at the Gleneagles Bookshop in downtown CR. Here, if you wish to go in person with proper Covid safety measures heralded and proof of double-vax, you may hear my client, Tony F. James, a sci-fi author, read from his new trilogy series: Fire and Rust. Gleneagles site was down this week, but google to see if it’s back up, or visit Tony’s site (page: Upcoming Events) here: https://www.fantasticfiction.com/j/anthony-james/
Another Sunday night concert: Maude Brubaker’s quartet will be delighting TO audiences with this delight, which has received high reviews lately (read at bottom of this link): https://www.listeso.com/concert/toronto-candlelight-valentines-day-special-romeo-juliet-metropolitan-community-church/2022-02-12/
Calvin Racette will be taking part in Regina Public LIbrary’s Aboriginal Story Telling Month on the 11th. Details here: https://www.reginalibrary.ca/explore/featured-events
And finally, while Kevin Loring isn’t a client, his cousin is, and I said I’d be glad to give this a plug as I love it when there’s bats in the Belfry (theatre). It is my old stompin’ ground. Kevin’s play Little Red Warrior and His Lawyer is playing at the Belfry for the rest of Feb.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the hearts for the arts!
