“Her teaching and writing on and of inner-city young people and First Nations groups has brought her to a time of post- teaching, but not post-educating…” So said reviewer, Lionel Carr about another of my clients, J. Ivanel Johnson who is living in New Brunswick, Canada after working in the UK, the USA and Ontario for several decades.

Seeing Red promo., Johnson

Though writing and publishing since the age of 12, her recent works have been included in THEMA Literary Journal, the Cat Ladies of the Apocalypse anthology, the Daily Drunk Freereader, the Nothing Without Us anthology, Mollyhouse Literary Journal and the hardcover of her 2013 text book How To Teach Drama To Kids was released just last year as well.

Yesterday, an incredibly moving poem, juried by a group in Chicago - Third Estate Art — who work in social justice and publish beautiful prose, music and artwork about culturally-diverse issues, published a work of Johnson’s that they purchased back in February, and we have been anxiously awaiting its launch.

The poem, her bio. and some comments may be read here, at Third Estate’s art magazine pages https://www.thirdestateart.org/quaranzine/seeing-red-by-j-ivanel-johnson though I have quickly correlated just some of the comments/reviews thus far:

Congratulations, J. Ivanel, for this early reception of Seeing Red!
